This is a small, local book fair where book lovers become booksellers for a day. Each booth brings carefully chosen used books, picture books, and personal favorites — and at a book fair like this, conversations naturally grow, sparked by a shared love of books.

Most of the books are in Japanese, but you don’t need perfect Japanese to enjoy this fair. Picture books, art books, and visually rich titles invite you to browse at your own pace — sometimes a single illustration or the feel of paper is enough to connect.

If you’re visiting Kyoto, studying here, or simply enjoying spring in the city, take a short trip west and spend a slow afternoon among books and people. Cherry blossoms nearby, easy conversations at the book stalls, and small, unexpected encounters await you.
